Upon arrival at Hanoi International airport, you will be welcomed by our staff and driven to your hotel.

First, try on a bowl of Pho, which has a big reputation in this beautiful country. Later, rumble through the capital today. Take it all in – the pagodas, the French Colonial Architectural Structures namely Long Bien Bridge, Hanoi Opera House. Spot the One Pillar Pagoda and the Temple of Literature.

Extensive Cyclo tour around Hoan Kiem Lake and through the lively streets and alleys of the Old Quarter in the afternoon.

Suggestion:  You might like to grab a glass of local beer “Bia Hoi” at Ta Hien Street in the Old Quarter to experience Hanoi’s street night life.

Embark on a journey to Ha Long Bay- a UNESCO World Heritage Site (4 hours by car). Along the way, beautiful panoramic views of the rural village and paddy fileds of the Red River Delta.

Midday arrival in Ha Long city and board a junk boat. Seafood lunch on the bay.

Spend the afternoon cruising around Halong Bay’s thousands of limestione islets and caves. Visit a natural grotto with spectacular formations en-route.

Dinner and night on board the junk amidst the marvels of the bay. In ideal weather conditions, a night squid session will be organized.

Wake up early to watch amazing sunrise over the bay in the morning. Continue cruising before returning to Hanoi. Disembark the cruise around 11 am and transfer to Noi Bai airport for a short flight to Hue (1 hour and 15 minutes).

Visit the Imperial City, known as the Citadel which was actually a walled fortress and palace belonged to the ancient city of Hue which was a capital city of the Nguyen Dynasty for 140 years back from 1805 until 1945.

Explore the tomb of King Khai Dinh. This hillside monument is a synthesis of Vietnamese and European elements. Most of the tomb’s grandiose exterior is covered in blackened concrete, creating an unexpectedly Gothic air, while the interiors resemble an explosion of colourful mosaic. Khai Dinh was the penultimate emperor of Vietnam, from 1916 to 1925. The construction of his flamboyant tomb took 11 years.

Visit Thien Mu Pagoda, one of the main institutions for Buddhism in Vietnam and a famous garden house which orginally the residence of a princess.

Transfer from Hue to Hoi An via Da Nang (4 hours by car). Travel over the Hai Van Pass, which on a clear day has spectacular views out to the East Sea and the Lang Co peninsula.

Check in at hotel and the rest of the day is at your leisure.

Suggestion: You might like to relax and watch Mother Nature put on her nightly display as the sun drops into the ocean on An Bang Beach or take a walk around the town and admire the colourful lanterns – trademark of Hoi An in the evening. The Chef and Faifo Cafe are the two coffee shops offered a lovely view of Hoi An.

Be enchanted by the historic wonders and quaint charm of UNESCO heritage.  At 9 am, explore the ancient town and learn all about Hoi An’s illustrious past as a trading port.

Take a walk through town and seeing remarkably well-preserved traditional houses that have withstood 200 years of weather and war. You will hear stories about the prosperous merchants who used to live in these homes, some proudly recounted by their own children and grandchildren.

Visit a Chinese Assembly hall, Hoi An has been home to large numbers of Chinese who came here from all over China. These immigrants built community centres in Hoi An where they could meet and worship their ancestors.

Make a stop at the Japanese Covered Bridge, one of two such bridges in Vietnam.  The bridge was built more than 400 years ago to connect the Japanese community with the Chinese who lived on the other side of the water. You will find carvings and paintings rich with symbolism and cultural significance inside the bridge.

Then, escape from Hoi An’s bustling town center and transfer to visit a farm in Tra Que Village, explore its garden of vegetables and the variety of local produce.

As midday approaches join a local family to prepare lunch. Learn the secrets behind some of Hoi An’s most famous traditional dishes using fresh ingredient from the garden, including the famous banh xeo – Vietnam’s delicious version of the pancake.  Let the stoves cool down as you settle to enjoy this home-cooked meal, wrapping up a fruitful day in the countryside.

In the morning, departure for Da Nang international airport (45 minutes by car) for short flight (1 hour and 15 minutes) to vibrant Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon).

You will be picked up by our driver upon your arrival.

Drive out to explore the underground tunnels in Cu Chi (1.5 hours journey). The intricate underground network of tunnels and chambers were first dug in 1948 to assist the Viet Minh against Colonial France and were continually expanded in the following 25 years. At its peak the de-facto underground city housed up to 10,000 people with living areas, kitchens, storage, weapons factories, field hospitals and command centers.

During the American War, the entire area of Cu Chi was designated a free fire zone and was heavily bombarded. From 1988, two sections of tunnels have been open for visitors. Now you have a chance to crawl through the tunnels yourself!

Return to Ho Chi Minh City for lunch.

Start to explore the biggest city of Vietnam in the afternoon. We will visit Reunification Place (former Presidential Place), Dong Khoi Street, Opera House, City Hall and Notre Dame Cathedral. Send your postcards from the pretty French colonial-style post office built by Gustave Eiffel in 1891 and visit the Ben Thanh market, an 11,000 m covered market, which offers the visitor an assortment of local produce.

Transfer to Cai Be town by car (3 hours).

Here you will see the Mekong Delta which has extensive network of thousands of water channels extending over 40,000 km2. The landscape is beautiful with its yellow rice fields and green orchards. The main mean of transportation is by boat. Board a traditional boat for a trip down the Mekong River, experience the memorable Cai Be floating market, and explore the canals and their lush green vegetation. Don’t miss the orchards where you can listen to the traditional tunes of the South while tasting a diverse selection of tropical fruits. Filled with vitamins and fiber, discover the local way of producing coconut candy and rice cakes and rehydrate yourself with a cup of honey tea at a beekeeping house.

Have lunch at a Historic House, a wooden garden house built in 1838 adorned with intricate carvings and antique furniture. The impressive sounding and equally tasty deep fried “elephant ear” fish is a must try dish.

After lunch, depart for your trip to Can Tho, the largest city in the Mekong Delta.

Life starts early in this part of the country, and so your morning will begin early for a visit to Cai Rang floating market which is usually already bustling by 07:00. As one of the main trading centers of the Mekong Delta, Cai Rang is the place for locals to sell and buy a wide range of products catering to their daily lives. Besides staple commodities, this market is ideal for those looking for local produces at bargain prices. That includes anything from fruits freshly harvested from orchards like durian, milk fruit, rambutan, mangosteen, and grapefruit to other processed foods like fish sauce, coconut candy, or dried fishes. Enjoy your very own breakfast on a private boat and explore the lively waterways.

Visit the two-centuries-old communal house featuring French colonial architecture and its serene garden, a vestige of Can Tho’s very own fine architecture and antique.

Return to Ho Chi Minh City and transfer to Tan Son Nhat Airport for your flight home.
